Keeping in mind the objective of making students environmentally aware and conscious with classroom education and hands on activity, GreenLine team conducted two events in the month of August 2016 as outdoor activities.
The first walk was conducted on 11th August 2016 at Aarey Colony. Our experts Ms. Madhavi and Ms. Kiran spoke to the students about the history of Aarey and why was it formed. Also during the walk from the gate of the VIP guesthouse to the Guesthouse itself students experienced various fauna and flora of Aarey and our experts helped the students to identify them.
MONSOON WALK AT AAREY
The second walk was conducted on 20th August 2016 at Powai Lake in the premises of the Ambedkar Udyan. Our expert for the session Mr. Vishal Rasal spoke to the students about the history of Powai lake. After dividing into groups the students walked up to the Powai lake and were helped to collect a water sample of the lake which was then distributed amongst those interested in testing the sample for acidity. The students learnt an important lesson that saving the sources of water is as important as saving water itself.
